A neck lift is a surgical procedure aimed at tightening the skin and muscles of the neck to correct sagging skin and the appearance of jowls. Cervicoplasty redefines the contours of the face and reduces excess skin or fat under the chin.
Procedure of the operation (or neck lift):
The operation is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. The surgeon’s incisions are located behind the ears and sometimes under the chin to minimize visible scarring. The surgeon removes fat and excess skin and tightens the underlying muscles (platysmaplasty) for a lasting effect.
Results are visible after a few weeks, once the swelling has subsided. Scars are discreet, hidden within the natural folds.
Postoperative effects: Bruising, swelling, and a feeling of tension are common but fade within a few days to weeks. Resumption of activities 10 to 15 days after the intervention.
