DROOPING NOSE

A drooping nose is usually a fairly large nose, sometimes with a hump, whose tip falls downwards, lower than the columella. This is why we can think of a hook. Thus, it is one of the 9 nose shapes. There is a wide variety of drooping noses. They have the opposite shape of upturned noses. Sometimes a normal nose becomes droopy over the years. This is due to the sagging of tissues due to age. People with a drooping nose will assume their originality or lose confidence in themselves because of this physical distinction. Some may decide to have surgery.

Rhinoplasty of drooping nose

Cosmetic surgery for a drooping nose involves removing any bump on the ridge of the nose, but more importantly, reducing the bone or cartilage to raise the tip of the nose. The surgeon can also reduce the size of the tip of the nose . The goal is to make the columella (underside of the nose) horizontal and no longer droopy.

Some people with drooping noses have problems breathing through their noses, surgery can improve this problem.

Rhinoplasty is generally not covered by insurance. Furthermore, prices vary depending on the surgeon and the method used. Rhinoplasty for a drooping nose costs between $4000 and $12,000 .
